In response to a survey of Australian small business owners Mark Cleaver of Bibby Financial Services who conducted the research warns that older small business owners risk being left behind if they don’t embrace social media.

The survey reveals that younger business owners (aged 18-39) years are significantly more likely to be using social media (83 per cent) than older business owners (56 per cent).  It also found that most small businesses (73 per cent) are currently using social media tools, including Facebook (47 per cent), LinkedIn (26 per cent), Google+ (23 per cent) and Twitter (21 per cent).
