This site was created as the project blog for RDA Northern Rivers (NSW) digital economy strategy, which commenced in November 2012.
The Digital Economy Strategy was funded by RDA Northern Rivers, NOROC, Southern Cross University and North Coast Institute of TAFE. RDA Northern Rivers is coordinating the development of the Strategy, and appointed Symphony3 as the project consultants.
The development of the Strategy was overseen by the Northern Rivers Digital Working Group, which included representatives from:
- RDA Northern Rivers
- Ballina Shire Council
- Byron Shire Council
- Clarence Valley Council
- Kyogle Council
- Lismore City Council
- Richmond Valley Council
- Tweed Shire Council
- North Coast Institute of TAFE (now North Coast TAFE NSW)
- Southern Cross University
- NSW Trade & Investment (now NSW Department of Industry)
The Northern Rivers Digital Economy Strategy was the outcome of this project. The strategy recognised the current and future information age relies on digital/information and communications technology (ICT) enhanced with ubiquitous high speed broadband (HSB).
In 2016 RDA Northern Rivers and NSW Department of Industry commissioned engaged Digital Economy Group to prepare the Northern Rivers Digital Activation Plan (the Plan) for the Northern Rivers. The Plan was launched in May 2016 and seeks to draw on local strengths and provide a practical platform for the region to embrace digital solutions and technologies.
Over the coming months this website will be updated with new information and sections as the actions in the Plan are undertaken.
